Getting in Touch

7 August 2020

If you want to get in touch with Joyce, there are a number of ways to do it. I'll list them here and add to the list if more come to light.

Just a reminder she's having surgery some time this afternoon so she probably won't be able to speak until tomorrow.

CONTACT INFO

Her mailing and delivery address:

Kaiser Permanente Hospital
ATTN: Joyce Abbott
2425 Geary Blvd., Room 4353
San Francisco, CA 94115-3358

The phone number at the hospital is 1 (415) 833-2000, press 1 for English and 4 for information.

Her cell phone number is just like mine listed here with one added to the last number. (Sorry but we don't want it scraped from this page.)

MAIL

She can receive mail in her room. I believe she'll be there through next week but I'll let you know when her release is immanent so you can mail to the house instead.

FLOWERS

You can send flowers to her hospital room (not all at once, now). If you need a recommendation, I'd use Monica's Florist, a small business right across the street from the hospital. I mentioned their colorful van in The Florist's Van last year and I always stop to smell the flowering cacti on my way to the car.

Monica's Florist. Right on the corner there.

TEXTS

We recently switched carriers so our texts are free now. Phone calls and data are limited on our plan so texts are the best way to send photos (yes, send photos!) and notes.

Use the number hidden at the top of this story (or just ask me).

PHONE

I don't know if the room has a phone. If you find out, let me know and I'll post it here.

EMAIL

I told her to log into the Kaiser Guest server while she's there to get her email, but I'm not sure she was able to do that without help. So email is likely to be ignored (even though she can get on the Internet with her cell plan).

Her email address is abbott period joyce @ gmail dot com. (Sorry again but don't want this scraped either.)

FINALLY

She hasn't been able to move around much so grabbing the phone in time to answer it hasn't worked out. So a text is probably preferred at the moment.

And the last time I spoke to her, she said she hadn't figured out how to charge her phone yet (but she did bring her charger). They're already using all the outlets in the room to monitor her condition, apparently.

Let me know if you have any questions.
