It's a great convenience when St. Patrick's Day falls on a Friday. The festivities may start no earlier but they may continue unimpeded by any other obligation that the observance of a weekend.

That sort of celestial alignment brings tears to our eyes. How often have things arranged themselves for our convenience? Amy of us, we mean.

The other day as we we stumbled along the sidewalk near the statue of St. Brendan the Navigator, we stopped to admire this ground cover still wet with rain drops.

We liked the pattern of the leaves and used it full crop in last week's slide show but you couldn't see the rain drops when the full image was reduced to 800 pixels.

Let's just say it was convenient for us to remedy that problem today.

And while we're at it, this text could use a refresh, too.
